SUMMERTIME
The window is above my head
but I can see the sky and I
can study the cloud patterns and
the movement of the wind and rain.
I watched the clouds go by today,
they moved slowly from right to left
across the ever changing screen
across my living canvas too
across my four foot two by two
of window pane above my head.
The sunlight is so strong these days
it must be summertime again.

Excellent!
ReplyDeleteThanks Noah!
ReplyDeleteWhen the sky's not grey from horizon to horizon, you can say it's summer in UK.
ReplyDeleteHi Stan, the sky's very grey today and we have rain rain right now yet they tell me this is summer!
ReplyDeleteThose clouds are getting faster, thicker and darker as I type.
ReplyDeleteMe thinks Summer is a confidence trickster ;-)
Hi Anthony, It's already persisting it down this side of the pennines!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely languid moment!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this excellent poem STG. I love your poetic approach. Although it may be free verse it has many elements of a Lyric poem Beautiful.
