ON THE CYCLICAL SCALE
Compliments of the season to one and all
Maid Marion, Robin Hood (and his merry men)
They tell me that Christmas is for Kings
donkeys wise men shepherds and sheep
others say that Christmas is for puddings
turkeys with or without all the trimmings
One man said it's for feeding the homeless
another said you're either ruthless or roofless
these days, and no one really cares that much
how cynical is that on the cyclical scale
We won't be giving many presents this year
there'll be one or two and they'll cost a packet
you'll know it's yours if the carrier bag rattles
if it doesn't it'll be leftovers for the microwave
