WITH DANDELION JAM

He plucks 
shards from star-parts
as meteorites whiz by.
Desperate as 
a troglodyte
she force feeds the baby
with dandelion jam.
Loony as 
the man on the moon
they wait patiently  
for the 
next space shuttle
to whisk them back to earth.

    there's nothing looney about waiting to go home. I'm curious, what does one do with shards of star-parts? definitely an interesting and fun read.

      They're not shards of star-parts. He's a drug user plucking crystal meth from cocaine.

    very cool word choices/images. From the subtle star-parts to the force feeding the baby dandelion jam to the personification of the man on the moon as loony, which is a great play on the word lunar. Very nicely done, was a nice piece. thanks

      Hi lucychili, sadly the 'jam' was cocaine amphetamine and the shards were crystal meth, it's a daily commute for these people, but you don't see them after a while.

    Okay, here's the glossary:
    Shards = Crystal Methamphetamine.
    Star = Cocaine.
    Whiz (bang) = Heroin + Cocaine.
    Jam = Cocaine Amphetamine.
    Loony (toons) = LSD.
    Moon = Mescaline.
    Space = Crack Cocaine.
    Earth = Marijuana cigarette.
