NaPoWriMo 2014
Three Word Wednesday CCCLXXII
I did the prompt at 3WW
the words today were:
Gaunt
Decompose
Vile
Here's my attempt:
CASA BLANCA
It’s me that wants to paint the
whole house white
Sally was right once you start
you can’t stop
After the first wall it’s hook
line and sinker
All that vile and peeling Mongolia
gone
Gone to goodness knows where
under the chair
Like the little mouse that the
cat chased there
Gaunt and buried under three
layers of paint
Pure brilliant white matt
emulsion so clean
Gleaming like a Spanish
Urbanization
Up my stairs and down in the old
front room
Outside the masonry paint is
gleaming too
I want to rename it Casa Blanca
The little mouse begins to
decompose
020414My Day Two from 2013
And here's another piece about Sally.
Ooh we are clapping our hands..this is a bit of a trip..reminds me of the The Yellow Wallpaper..some colours take hold like vermin..
ReplyDeleteThanks Jae, they say there;s no accounting for taste.
Deleteit's like the white can whitewash everything clean but the bad is still underneath.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the decay is still there.
DeleteExcellent. I've gone on painting binges too, and generally with white. Better than old magnolia anyway.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the Mongolia/Magnolia reference. Thank you.
DeleteMany years ago we were invited to view a friend's redecorated house which was exactly as you described yours (in the poem). We were both horrified by the ugliness of it, like a corpse drained of blood. Mind you it wasn't on the Costa Blanca!
ReplyDeleteMy house in real life is much worse than my poetic one, and it's not on the Costa Blanca either.
DeleteI like the sense of freewheeling abandon, even though decay might lurk beneath all that pristine white.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhite color give us satisfaction for while after some distracting things...but then one may start to feel like hanging on the pictures or else...~ love your free will
ReplyDeleteThanks Humbird, maybe some pictures with black frames would be good.
DeleteMe? I hate painting---anything!
ReplyDeleteWithin the Temple
You paint pretty good words with your poetry!
DeleteWell, yes, I guess there's that. Thanks!
DeleteUlan Bator is the capital of Magnolia... It means 'Red Hero'... but it's all white by me...
ReplyDeleteThanks Stan, I always thought it was called Urban Atol and was the home of the Sky Blue Tower!
DeleteI really love all of this, and Casa Blanca? That's just fabulous!
ReplyDeletethank you mrs.
DeleteYou command sounds so well! ANd I don't know if I' reading more than you intended into this, but I'm seeing Spanish urbanization and the decaying mouse as the Madrid/Spin housing boom/bust? No matter, the images and sounds are brilliant.
ReplyDeleteCasa Blanca and Spanish urbanisation makes a farm shack seem pretty good:)
ReplyDeleteSome friends of mine are heading down under next week. Me? I'm still painting!
ReplyDeleteI like this!
