HATE
THE HEAT
sun
after sun
and more sun
on the way tomorrow
but not here
here it
is

persisting
it down
with the proverbial
don’t you know anyhow
we’ve been waiting
since february
for

weather
like you’ve
got over there
but i don’t care
don’t you just
hate the
heat

  1. some people do wait and wait for the heat, don't they? this is a good case of the grass is always greener on the other side! good take on the prompt.

  5. Hi Brian, I love the heat too, we just don't get it. (very often).

Hi Just Jen, heat indoors especially at night, I don't like. However, in the UK there's only ever one or two days when it gets that sticky.

  6. well yes even after waiting all summer for some heat i was complaining the last couple of days when it finally was hotter - though that was because i was away and had packed for the weather we'd had, rather than thinking it might be hot!

  11. I love the progression of this poem, how it dissolves into this conversation that is hard to pick out, yet seemingly universal.
