Monday Poetry Train Revisited #21

Written for Monday Poetry Train Revisited

PETULIA'S WAITING
Petulia's waiting
she sits contemplating
ain't no kerfuffle but you!
Locked in her closet
a Troglodytes wallet
the names of her lovers
are stencilled in blood...
She thinks that it's okay
to cliche the natives
to commune with the names
on the cemetery wall.
She comments on fan-flicks
and downloads snuff-movies
she thinks that that's groovy
if she thinks at all.

Sunday Scribblings "Aging"

Written for Sunday Scribblings - "Aging" prompt:

THE ART OF AGING

you’re only as old

as you think you are

I think I’m getting

younger every year

therefore you’ll soon be

catching up with me

twenty years ago

you thought I was old

I was twenty-nine

and you were nineteen

now you’re thirty-nine

and I’m just nineteen

you’re ten years older

than I’ll ever be

you see you’re only

as old as you think

Here's mine:

WHEN WINTER’S WANING

Wither whatever warm weather we will

Why wait when winter won’t warm when we will

Which way woes wherever, whoa we will

We will watch with woollen wraps wistfully

We will whistle while we wait woefully

We will wishy washy woo when we want

What wrong way? Why winter writer’s we will

Whittle wax words while winter wanes, we will

We will wear wings with warnings when we work

260309

We will whacky whack

whacky whack whacky we will

WANING WINTER’S WANING

Will we whacky whack whacky

Whack whacky will we

Sunday Scribblings "I Come From... "

Written for Sunday Scribblings "I Come From... " prompt

“I COME FROM… PHEW!”

I came from the void, sitting there alone

like you, waiting in that eternal hell

we waited and waited for life to come

and snatch us up into the breast of time

some said it was just a test and the rest

they didn’t care, they wanted out of there

at any cost, any way they could go

to time, even if it meant their return

back to the zone where they would burn and burn

but you and I both knew back then, as now

that we would be the chosen few, the free

as we elected to be chosen to

come to time to experience new birth

and to enjoy the blessings of this earth

we now can recall our eternal day

as we remember why we came to time

this is the day to say: “I come from… phew!”

Three Word Wednesday & RWP

Written for Three Word Wednesday - avenge, ramble, genuine
And posted to Read Write Poem - as I'm sure I had Tom's prompt
in mind when I wrote this nonsense...

DANGALANGDANGDERBINGBONGBANG

Just to offend you I’ll write a sonnet

A genuine all singing sort of song

der, der, der stick that under your bonnet

A capella daaaaaah, from the rooftops bong!

I know you think I’m taking a gamble

Dangalangdangderbingbongbang, I sing

Whichever way, hitch, lift, walk or ramble

Sing, song, tune up or down this clown will ring

His bell loud from dawn to dusk to Stonehenge

And everyone will know that he pretends

When he says that he’s going to avenge

Because this little song is making friends
