Today’s challenge at NaPoWriMo is to write a lune. This is a sort of English-language haiku. While the haiku is a three-line poem with a 5-7-5 syllable count, the lune is a three-line poem with a 5-3-5 syllable count. You can write a one-lune poem, or write a poem consisting of multiple stanzas of lunes. Happy writing!

Betwixt and between
Still raining
Waiting for summer

Clouds threaten

Waiting for summer

Shorts and tee

Umbrella

Rivers flood

Waiting still hoping

NaPoWriMo 2014

Today’s optional prompt is to write a lune. 
I tried but it was a mind numbing exercise, so I threw this little flamethrower together instead.

PENDULUM GONE

Orange as her brightly painted toes

Shows no shows that come and go and went

Spent like the blue hue of candle light

Night after mellow yellow morning dew

Due to the time of day we try to swing

Bring on the pendulum gone crazy

Lazy as a Sunday afternoon

Tune up the old banjo red balloon

Soon it will be midnight and much too late

To skate and date and double date for fun

One or two of us will be left standing

Banging in the purple rain again

Insane as her bluntly pierced nose

Throws up all the money that she spent
