The Word World War

PROPAGANDA
Propaganda the Word World War
You might think you sew your own hem
Don’t listen to their made up law
Think your own thoughts but don’t tell them

Nothing’s as good as they proclaim
Propaganda the Word World War
Don’t do this don’t do that don’t shame
You will not draw the things you saw

Faster than a hot rod race car
The bus driver inside of you
Propaganda the Word World War
Gets you back home before you knew

They’re coming to get you again
To take you smash you break your jaw
How can they see into your brain

THREE BLIND MICE - BA BUM
Three blind mice - three blind mice - ba bum
See how they run, see how they run
They're hiding from the farmer's wife
They've heard she's got a carving knife

To cut off their tails just for fun
Three blind mice - three blind mice - ba bum
It really really wasn't fun
If you knew half the things she's done

When she finds them - more than blinds them
And never mind the carving knife
Three blind mice - three blind mice - ba bum
She burnt them at the stake for fun

Their only crime was religion
Her father Henry rocked the boat
And Mary quite contrary joked
Three blind mice - three blind mice - ba bum

I'M WAITING FOR INSPIRATION

I'm waiting for inspiration
but the headache won't go away
I try to baffle it with words
Big words that you can write backwards

Like Wassamassaw or someplace
I'm waiting for inspiration
But time is running out fast now
The stats are messing with my brain

You can't negate illness for long
I've been in denial for four years

I'm waiting for inspiration
Hold the operation I'm scared

My headache is banging thuck thuck
I just want to go back to sleep
Elegant as Malayalam

I'm waiting for inspiration

HUMPTY
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
One eye'd Jack and his cannonball
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the King's men to the rescue

Their horses and all of their might
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
One eye'd Jack and his cannonball
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

All the King's horses came to help
And all the King's men he could call
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

Under seige you wouldn't believe
That such a big gun could falter
The oldest town would lose its crown
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall

the spider beside her said boo

And up Little Miss Lily flew
frightened the spider would follow
Just Little Miss Muffet again
and hollered a hullabaloo

The spider beside her took flight
and frightened Miss Muffet insane

Jack Horner sat in the corner
Eating his Christmas pie or Pud
He put in his thumb a little
And pulled out a plum diddle dum

Little Jack Horner the traitor
Jack Horner sat in the corner
And pulled out the deeds to a house
And said: What a good boy am I

The Bishop had sent him to plead
And to give the deeds to the crown
Jack Horner sat in the corner
And squirted the juice in his eye

Jack Horner sat on the jury
The Bishop - hung drawn and quartered
The king gave the house deeds to Jack

JUMPING JACK
Jack jump over the candlestick
It's not a game it's daft insane
To work all night in this half-light
To make the lace for the master

So Jack be nimble Jack be quick
Jack jump over the candlestick
It's your turn next to take the test
You've got to jump and clear the beast

It's five foot tall and you're so small
You'll have to run close to the wall
Jack jump over the candlestick
And watch that you don't trip and fall

It's up to you quite what to do
It's not a game it's daft insane
So Jack be nimble Jack be quick
Jack jump over the candlestick

MAD INSANE
Up and down again - left right left
right left - The Grand old Duke of York
they say: He had ten thousand men
He marched them up and up and up

And then he marched them down again
Up and down again - left right left
To the top of the hill and down
And when they were up they were up

And when they were down they were down
When they were only half way up
Up and down again - left right left
right - They were neither up nor down

T'was safe at the top of the hill
But down the hill was mad insane
And half way up was just as tough
Up and down again - left right left

to set before the king - sixpence

The King was in the counting-house
counting out his money - sixpence
Singing songs of sixpence - sixpence
While the queen was in the parlour

Eating bread and honey - sixpence
The garden maid hung out the clothes
a blackbird came pecked off her nose

DOCTOR FOSTER
Doctor Foster went to Gloucester
In a shower of rain - complain
Complain - He went for a piddle
But then - He stepped in a puddle

It went - Right up to his middle
Doctor Foster went to Gloucester
That puddle - Oh what a muddle
And never went back there again

Complain complain - complain complain
Was Doctor Foster a preacher?
Doctor Foster went to Gloucester
Was Doctor Foster a doctor?

I've heard some say Longshanks was king
They say he was Edward the first
And that's why someone wrote this verse
Doctor Foster went to Gloucester

ORANGES AND LEMONS
The bells of London town ringing
It sounds like they're singing to me
Oranges and lemons the bells sing
Ring-a-ding-ding from St. Clement's

You owe me five farthings ding-ding
The bells of London town ringing
Exclaims the bells of St. Martin's
When will you pay me - Old Bailey

When I grow rich ding-a-ling-ding
Sing-a-long the bells of Shoreditch
The bells of London town ringing
But when will that be - says Stepney

Ding-a-long-ding-ding the bells sing
I do not know - I do not know
Say the great bells of Bow - singing
The bells of London town ringing
