New Stuff IV

COWGIRL JOSS

Meet me there I'll be waiting for you

Your long bleach blonde hair and everything

Speaking about secretive things

Rings diamonds and gold

Older than the olden days she raves

Save it for your memoirs lady

Shady as a blank sick note

Not much better than a dodgy MOT

Mother wouldn't have liked that

Thatcher roofer tiler Cowgirl Joss

Josephine not tonight baby please

Easy like you like it on the tow path

Patch it up in the long grass if you must

Trust me to be the one to fall for you

Your long bleach blonde hair mesmerising me

Meet me there I'm assuming that you'll come

Coronavirus 3

RARELY REALLY
(SURELY NOT THAT)
So (comma) they say - before they respond
spondulicks lighting up their greedy eyes
yes – so – the buzz response to anything
kerching un-till the Jack and Jill is full

Full of candy and sugar coated dough
doe ray me far so - so what - sew it up
put I before E except after C
see what I'm talking about now – money

Money money money bread and honey
phoney telephoney transportation
transport by buses trains and cars it's not
nothing is - rarely really - what it seems

Seems like so - is the new well – how deep's that
that's way out and groovy - surely not that

Day Fourteen

DAY FOURTEEN

SIXTEEN THINGS
You can dream a little loving
moving on to a hot lips kiss
Miss little Miss Understood
moody as Monday come home
me and my shadow are waiting

Wait hold on someone's here
there you go I knew it would work
park the motor and come on over
very nice to have you in town
nowt like folks to get yer back up

Super duper every time you lose
lost like this for a little while
mile after mile you trust in them
hem it up easy as you go along
song to sing or you can plan solid

I sold it so you can too
007 trust in the man from MI6
sixteen things that won't go wrong
song for singers sinners on song
wrong on right or right on wrong

Day Five 2015

OTHER WORLDS
Get back in your makeshift spaceship and fly
I don't want to go to your other worlds
Other worlds where the two suns always shine
Shining down on Brown Sugar Beach all day

Day after day and all night too of course
Because there is no night where you come from
Fromage et frites are for Mooner’s only
Lonely people that populate this Earth

Earthlings are not welcome where you go to
Too many of us have been robotised
Robots running round doing dirty work
Working twenty four seven three six five

I've got an idea you've got a tin pan
Man Friday that looks much like me get back

NaPoWriMo 2013 Day Twenty-Six

NaPoWriMo 2013
Day Twenty-Six

ROUND ABOUT HELL
Not that hot all strangers to each other
Hermione told Helen about her dad
Dado rails won’t make the house trendy
Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.

Sarcastic as a naive art dealer
Alerting the world to the latest scam
Scampering up the hill like Jack and Jill
Illegally pocketing all that cash.

Cashless as they would like us all to be
Beer tax and credit card society
Etymologise each thought to the root
Route one end to end stuff just kick the ball.

Ballooning in the playground about hell
Helen told Hermione it’s not that hot.

NaPoWriMo 2013 Day Twenty-Five

NaPoWriMo 2013
Day Twenty-Five

UNSOCIAL HOURS
Punish the victim kick him when he's down
Own your own home or pay through the nose twice
Icicles hanging off his hob nail boots
Boob jobs and Botox best before breakfast.

Faster and faster quick as a vixen
End this stupidity while you still can
Canada would be a good place to hide
Hidden away in the giant snow lands.

Outlandish as it might seem there's a queue
Queens and Brooklyn are good to hide in too
Tomorrow is almost another day
Other days don't count as unsocial hours.

Ursa Major rocks at this time of year
Earlier they said punish the victim.

NaPoWriMo 2013 Day Eighteen

NaPoWriMo 2013
Day Eighteen

I'm doing today's prompt at Napowrimo.net!

This prompt comes to us from Cathy Evans,
who challenges us to write a poem that begins and
ends with the same word. You could try for something
in media res, that begins and ends with “and,” for example.
Or maybe “if.” Or perhaps you could really challenge
yourself and begin/end your poem with a six-dollar word
like “antidisestablishmentarianism.” (Just kidding!)
Whatever word you choose, I hope you have fun with it!

Here's mine:

THE ONE
One on one they're about the same as us
usually we'd rush out and take them on
only as I can see their weaponry now
no way will we beat them one on one

None of them out there last time were yet born
ornamental as that might sound to you
your young soldiers will surely die tonight
night after night none will be spared no none

Oneness in the ranks will beat these chancers
erstwhile as they might think they are out there
here we go then into battle once more
rebuffing the enemy with oneness

One of us and only the one will win
in this total war we will be the one
180413

ONION ON YOU HERO
(THE ONE REVEALED)
Only as I can see their weaponry now
no way will we beat them one on one
in this total war we will be the one
ornamental as that might sound to you
none of them out there last time were yet born

Oneness in the ranks will beat these chancers
night after night none will be spared no none

Your young soldiers will surely die tonight
one on one they're about the same as us
usually we'd rush out and take them on

Here we go then into battle once more
erstwhile as they might think they are out there
rebuffing the enemy with oneness
one of us will win and the one only

Day Nine

NaPoWriMo 2012

Here's mine:

EASTER EGGS

Fascinated by the things that we learn
Learning to love life again and again
And again things are different there's much
Much more to think about than Easter eggs
Egocentric as that may sound it's true

Truth then lies and more lies they really hurt
Hurting the bone and marrow from the rear
Rearing up towards that operation
Operate on someone else I won't wait
Waiting rooms are just for emergency
Emergency ward ten on a re-run
Running out of space I'm fascinated

NaPoWriMo 2011 Day Twenty Four

Original post Day 24 2009

How to play
The American Sandwich game
:
Write a piece of flash fiction in just three American Sentences.
Allen Ginsberg's American Sentence has seventeen syllables.
Your task is to use as few words as possible to fill the sandwich.

Here's mine:

WILL MY LOVE
I carved a message on your tree, I put it there for all and sundry.
A heart, an arrow, and my name linked to yours, perhaps eternally.
Maybe, I should have waited, will my love be reciprocated?

Day 24 2010

Day 24 2011
SUNDAY COMES
Sunday comes, nearly goes before sundown
down on the sunny sunny funny farm
farming like daisies on top of the world
worlds away from cranks and crowds, Sunday comes.

NaPoWriMo 2011 Day Nine

VARIETY
Variety can be incredibly
Incredibly boring and totally
Totally not the spice of life, random!
Random conundrum, humdrum universe.
Universal explanation varies
Variety can be incredibly
Incredibly boring actually.
Actually not more than nothingness
Nothing could be worse, less even than more.

More more more! they clamour expecting all.
All or nothing that's what they want, nothing.
Nothing plus nothing makes variety.

NaPoWriMo 2011 Day Eight

Thank you for taking a moment to read this.
The prompt was to write the weirdest poem.

SATKONA
Satkona inverted automata
Automata and connective-physics
Connected with rosicrucianism
Rosicrucian and eroticism
Erotica can be detrimental
Detrimental like the denial of gods...

God the gods and Enochian magic
Enochian magic and the others
Other one's other worlds Metaphysics
Metaphysical help I don't meat-eat
Eating away at playing with tantric
Tantric guru something remedial
Remedial mantra for my yantra
Yantra held star of David Satkona

NaPoWriMo 2011 Day Six

COINCIDENTALLY
Coincidentally he fell over
Over he tumbled and stumbled inside.
Inside the house was a boy called Norman
Norman was glad that the other boy came.

Come in why don't you, you idiotic!
Idiotic? that's what you think, do you?
Do you know how stupid you sound, empty?
Empty? But my glass is half full, Norman!

Norman Bigglesworth to you, little titch!
Titch? Dream on Biggles bumpkin you fat arse!
Arsenal is a football team, you loser!
Loser, bruiser, names don't hurt me Loser!

Loser? I think you're probably yellow!
Yellow, yes you coincidentally...

NaPoWriMo 2011 Day Five

GUESS WHO?
Guess who? but you know who you are don't you?
You yeah you don't wanna talk to me now!
Now I know you don't. No! 'cos talkin' hurts.
Hurts behind your mind, penetrates your soul.

Your soul that you inhabit that you love.
Love her like you told me you loved me once
Once when all in the garden was rosy
Rosy, red, rouge, where are you hiding now?

Now I know you don't. No! 'cos talkin' hurts.
Hurts like the hell fire that you've put me through
Through the mangle until I'm almost flat
Flat enough to post myself back to you.

You yeah you don't wanna talk to me now!
Now that you've got it all, but me, guess who?

NaPoWriMo 2011 Day Three

WELCOME
Okay it's day three of Napowrimo already, and I'm worried sick about going to the hospital on Tuesday, surgeons always recommend surgery like butchers always want to sell you meat. I wrote the piece below before I checked last years Day Three offering, and there's a remarkable similarity in the style. Phew!
ACROSTIC
acrostic in this format would be crude
crude as the oil that makes those men rich
rich like they say they need to operate
operate in a makeshift surgery
surgery for any fool they can take
take out his organ or that one or if...

if this is the way that they do it crude
crude as a rhyme that thinks it's a sonnet
sonnet surgery in operation
operation that nobody needs now
now listen we need to operate now
now is the time while you're still young enough

enough is enough I can't see the time
time to forgive and forget acrostic

NaPoWriMo 2011 Day Two

Here's a little song that I offer for Day Two.

ETERNALLY

eternally through time I'm still falling
falling out with you 'I love you lady'
lady of the night please take my candle
candle wax will stick like glue - me to you

you know I love you I already said
said more than you wanted to hear I'm sure
sure as eggs are eggs - don't poached just beat fried?
fried rice and steamed veg followed by some pud!

pud would be good on a night that's this cold
cold like your heart and the soul that you sold
sold your body sold your mind to someone
someone else that is, never to me though

though you now know that I would take you home
home to my home with me eternally
Repeat

NaPoWriMo 2010 Day 3

NAPOWRIMO 2010 DAY 3
It’s daunting to take on a commitment as large as NaPoWriMo, but here you are. Today is Day 3, and you are facing your fears. RWP member Joseph Harker thinks there’s a poem in that; here’s his prompt for you:
Write about something that scares you. It could be tarantulas or your significant other cheating on you or an existential fear of the unknown so long as it unsettles you. Describe it in the most vivid language possible!
Sometimes by articulating our fears, we strip them of their power. (But don’t go too far! A little fear is good to have.)
Here's mine:

SKULL THUGGERY DIY
Scared afraid of Black and Decker doctors
Doctors chasing me with knives and hammers
Hammers hitting chisels into my skull
Skull thuggery that’s what those doctors do
Do they have to tell you that you might die
Die if you have the op - die if you don’t
Don’t they know that I’m scared stiff already

All ready to have your operation?
Operation knives are sterilised phew!
Phew, there’s no turning back they’re going through
Through my head to improve my brain remove...
Remove my brain? they’ve got to find it first
First thing I thought when they told me of this
This is the worst thing DIY I’m scared.
